Over 30 national and international speakers have been confirmed for the Dunedin FINS 2023 programme, 12 - 14 May.
The 2023 Festival of Interactive Narrative & Storytelling (FINS) is excited to announce its finalised programme, bringing together award-winning narrative designers from around New Zealand and internationally, and packed with over 30 seminars, workshops and interactive events spread over three days.
An unmissable opening Friday night event leads into a weekend programme full of community and professional industry events and hands-on workshops held at Tūhura Otago Museum, as well as networking opportunities with some of the brightest in the industry.
FINS will be an amazing opportunity for beginners and experts alike!

Community Workshops
FINS also features a range of community (family-friendly) and lead-up educational workshops. These events have limited spaces, so get in quick.
I'm in this Book! The Joy of Interactive Fiction
Learn about the joys of interactive fiction and map out an interactive story, in this one-off FINS workshop with Deb Potter, Wellington-based writer and publisher of You Say Which Way fiction at the Dunedin City Library, 2:00pm Saturday 13 May.
I'm in this Book workshop is open to a general audience and early career professionals, with no experience with interactive fiction required.

Pūrākau Kai Tahu - OUR STORIES
Supported by Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu and CODE, join Cultural Advisor / Senior Ranger & Researcher at Te Rūnaka o Ōtākou on a special FINS interactive hīkoi to the Dunedin Sinclair Wetlands, 2:30pm Friday 12 May.
Engage in the stories of local iwi/hapu; learn about the importance of 'Te Nohoaka o Tukiauau', and how the myths and legends helped Māori understand their world.

Our FINS 'Academic Stream' include events aimed at secondary school to tertiary students, and their educators:
Digital story-building workshops using Twine for High School teachers and Year 10 students.
Academic seminars hosted at the University of Otago and Otago Polytechnic on Friday 12th May.
EnTWINEd Narratives - interactive story-writing student showcase, 13th-14th May at Otago Museum.
4-hour Narrative Jam for 11-14 year olds, Sunday 14th May at Otago Museum. Including special industry guests and prizes to be won for best narratives!
